I guess it has been around for as long as recorded history. Last night through one of the social networks tweets, that started with "Who is ready for some controversy?"

I followed to the individuals site, where the individual had placed a post in which they stated they where asked to critic a website. This individual was positioning himself as an expert, and had prices set for his services.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing, his site was horrible, took 8 seconds to load a page that was almost 500k in size with one image and some text.

The sad part is people will be sucked into this, taking advice from people who otherwise should never exist or be found for that matter!

Not sure if you had the same experience but 20 years ago when I was first involved in network marketing we were actually taught to "Fake It Till You Make It."

While that was perhaps a little 'tongue in cheek' I know a few people that took that serious. The worst thing is that those who fake it are under a tremendous strain. I know one guy that actually snapped mentally - not certain it was all due to this - but he was a participant in the 'Fake It Till You Make It' mentality.

If you are not yet successful there's no need to advertise it. That's where you can barrow credibility by associating with a professional organization like Leaders Club.
