One of the primary reasons to have your email on your desktop or laptop computer is the ability to organize and search through the past emails.

Getting Organized

Having spent more time then I care to admit with individuals, just to get their computes cleaned up and organized. It’s no wonder our emails are lost or never read.

When you look at an inbox with hundreds of emails how are you going to pick out the important ones that require your attention.

By starting to organize our email inbox we can create folders for the many different and various emails that we get.

When we combine this with the filters and rules built into the outlook express / outlook programs, we are starting to automate some of our business and keep us focused on what is important.

This is the typical screen view of outlook expresses folders, you can create as many as you like. Place them where you want them. The key is to get organized, so you can focus on your business.

Creating rules for messages helps keep our attention where it needs to be focused. If we get emails from the same source and we want to keep this correspondence we create a folder, move the emails to that folder.

We can have Outlook or Outlook express do this for us in an automated process. This keeps all of the important emails in our inbox for our attention and places things like newsletters or any other form of email that we want in a separate folder.
