Ok We've set it up.

16.) The Connection and Security tabs more then likely will not require us to do anything, at least that has been my experience.

17.) The last item we have to look at and we should be already to send and receive emails with our Outlook Express program is the advanced tab. This is one area that could cause us problems with the normal configuration. Although I am finding more Internet service providers are not blocking smtp port 25, this is the port that most email is sent out from your computer.

As you can see here outgoing is port 25 and incoming is 110. If you cannot send and receive emails this maybe one of the problems.

Different emails services may use different out going ports, in which case you would need to enter the port numbers and or check the boxes highlighted below in yellow.

Advanced Tab setup

Once you click apply to everything your Outlook Express email program should be up and fully capable of sending and receiving email.

It is important to remember that during testing you cannot send emails to the same account that you are using with Outlook express for testing. It just will not work, so if you have another email account use that for testing.

Now that our email system is setup, lets look at creating rules for better organization.
