It seems like not a day goes by that I don’t receive an email from someone (generally spam) offering what they call really good traffic generation techniques.
While some are good the vast majority of them are outright schemes. No doubt if your in network marketing or have a home business you’ve received a few of these as well.
We all want lots of traffic to our sites just like any business wants lots of customer walking through their doors. And this holiday season coming up I’m sure many business are praying it happens.
Recently, one of the newsletters I receive called MarketingPower by Andre Vatke, covered this topic, and how it affects many individuals in network marketing.
As I read this statement:
It turns out that the average network marketer spends more time researching a new computer of cell phone plan than they do the network marketing company they join.
First, I laughed as I reflected on my early years not just in this industry but in life as well.
Today in network marketing individuals are being taught, it is ok to steal – plagiarize other peoples content.
They do this even though they have no relationship to the individual, past or present.
Why would anyone in network marketing need to resort to this?
Do they not realize they are sabotaging their business…
…and just how easy it is to get the plagiarized content removed from their site or have the site completely shutdown?
There is no shortage of network marketers today that state, the only way to network marketing success is by using a funded proposal system, you could be if it is not your primary company.
Yet, are you dooming yourself to failure by using someone else’s system to build your network marketing business?
Old School meets new school or is it the other way around? I was having good round table discussion with a few fellow network marketers, and this subject came up.
Now this is probably not what you’re thinking about when I say old school network marketing meets new school, so let me clarify the picture a little.
In the not to distant past a few had the idea to create network marketing training material to sell, thus the start of the funded proposal.
When it comes to network marketing, far to many marketers take a one sided approach, it’s either all or nothing. Just because someone tells you that all the fish are in one location, are they really there or is it an illusion?
Since you are running your business, you alone are in control of your own marketing. How many methods do you employ daily to reach your target market? Do you rely on just one method, throwing out a cast net hoping to ensnare your share of the market?
Over the years of observing network marketers I’ve concluded that some of them are indeed a strange bunch of characters. So how did I come to this conclusion they were a strange bunch.
It really wasn’t hard at all, participating in social networks really lays the foundation for this. I found it really interesting especially with twitter, with six million users it appears that I get nine million experts teaching me how to do it.
I like to consider myself a student of marketing, always observing what is going on in both the network marketing world and traditional brick and mortar businesses. Over the weekend, I read with great interest a news story announcing Microsofts plans for the future.
