It Takes Too Long To Build A Home-Based Business

The other day I was having a conversation with one of my prospects when we started talking about how long it would take for him to build a home-based business that would provide him with a six-figure income.

Currently he works full-time and he is able to devote 10 - 15 hours a week to a home-based business. I told him that if he took consistent effective action, he would probably be able to accomplish his six-figure income goal in approximately 4 - 5 years.

“Wow!” he said, “Do you mean to tell me that it will take that long to achieve my income goal?” “I don’t know if I want to make that kind of commitment.”

My response to him was simple. In lieu of building a home-based business, how would he be able to generate that kind of income without quitting his job? Think about it. Building a business that will provide a six-figure income while working part-time from home with limited start-up capital…what a deal!!

Let’s consider this. Go to college for 4 to 5 years and earn a degree. What kind of job and what income will you start out with? At best, a 9 -5 job working 5-days a week with a 2-week paid vacation, health benefits and sick pay, earning thirty to forty thousand dollars a year.

When we finished our conversation, he was convinced that building a home-based business was his best option and his only option.

My question to him, was “Are you in enough pain to make the commitment to build your business?” Only time will tell.
