The Fake It Till You Make It Crowd!

In what seems like so many years ago, when I worked as a aviation electronics technician I would often work for a customer that was never happy with any work that was done. His favorite saying was fake it until you make it.

Even though, I had 18 years of experience I was working on small airplanes that where completely different as far as the problems that had to be solved. No longer did I have a wealth of technical data to work with, the wiring diagrams where vague and no two airplanes out of 25 where exactly a like, talk about challenges.

What I specialized in where autopilots and radars. After several years working in small airplanes I became quite proficient at fixing any problem, to the point that customers would fly their small planes 8 to 10 hours, bypassing numerous other places to get repaired.

Many of the ancient and I do mean ancient autopilot systems where barely supported, yet I could find a few old school “retired” technicians that could provide sound advice. The challenge was in knowing what and whom to believe! I could get lots of advice that would do nothing more than to lead me on a wild rabbit chase.

So Glenn, what the h**l does this have to do with network marketing?

Now here is another group that is taught to fake it till you make it and while your at it spam the h*ll out of everyone! Network marketers and companies of all kinds are failing today at alarming rates.

Yet some companies and network marketers, that know what they are doing are still succeeding without giving away the store. More people are searching today for viable alternatives, yet 99 percent of what they find are scams like those above.

The question you have to ask yourself is do you want to build a solid, sustainable business or be a part of the “Fake It Till You Make It Crowd?” The choice is yours only the odds are that you won’t make it if you fake it!

Not sure if you had the same experience but 20 years ago when I was first involved in network marketing we were actually taught to “Fake It Till You Make It.”

While that was perhaps a little ‘tongue in cheek’ I know a few people that took that serious. The worst thing is that those who fake it are under a tremendous strain. I know one guy that actually snapped mentally – not certain it was all due to this – but he was a participant in the ‘Fake It Till You Make It’ mentality.

If you are not yet successful there’s no need to advertise it. That’s where you can barrow credibility by associating with a professional organization like Leaders Club.

I guess it has been around for as long as recorded history. Last night through one of the social networks tweets, that started with “Who is ready for some controversy?”

I followed to the individuals site, where the individual had placed a post in which they stated they where asked to critic a website. This individual was positioning himself as an expert, and had prices set for his services.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing, his site was horrible, took 8 seconds to load a page that was almost 500k in size with one image and some text.

The sad part is people will be sucked into this, taking advice from people who otherwise should never exist or be found for that matter!
