Free Network Marketing Leads?

How often have you seen advertisements or blog posts that indicate you can generate free network marketing leads?

Can you really get some thing for nothing? I guess many people would love to believe that you can, but reality indicates otherwise.

I guess it is possible if you place absolutely no value on your time it might work. Even a part time job in most states pays a minimum of $7.25 an hour.

Lets break down some of these so-called free lead generation schemes. In order to generate these you’ll need:

A lead capture system – $19.95 to $49.95 a month.
An Autoresponder system $14.95 a month and up.
Website hosting anywhere from free to $9.95 a month.

So far we could have spent anywhere from $44.85 to $74.85 and we’ve still not produced a single lead.

Since we’re trying to generate “Free Network Marketing Leads” we’ve only got a few options:

We can blog at least once a day for months on end and if we figure it will take at least 1 hour each day times at least the minimum wage…

We’re looking at roughly $217.50 per month, our time isn’t really free is it?

Now where up to anywhere from $262.35 to 292.35 a month and we may or may not have produced a lead yet. But wait we’re not done yet…

We can get on Facebook and Twitter for about 3 or 4 hours a day, 7 days a week. There goes another $652.60 a month if we are paying ourselves a minimum wage.

Now we are up to about $914.95 to $944.95 a month all in the pursuit of generating free leads…

Even if we where able to generate 2 leads a day from all this effort that’s roughly 60 leads a month our cost would average out to about $15.24 per lead.

Unless we want to fool ourselves into believing our time is free, in which case we would still be looking at $0.75 to $1.25 per lead.

That’s assuming we can generate 2 leads per day, with millions of other network marketers competing against us everyday!

So lets reduce that number in half, that’s still pretty generous and of course our time is free right! Now where up to about $1.50 to $2.50 per lead.

Ok maybe I’m being a little cynical here yet in life there is no free lunch especially when it comes to generating network marketing leads.

I just took a few minutes to go through a few of your blog articles. Your material is great. I appreciate the honesty that you are sharing with others. I believe this is the industry for the future, But the lotterey mentality of so many people who come in needs to shift. As professionals I believe that out right honesty and intregrity is crucial to keep the network marketing industry online as well as offline the great profession that it really is.

No such thing as a free ride as they say. I’ve been the route of trying to get free leads and while it does work, it still takes picking up the phone and contacting that prospect to qualify them. And it does take a lot of time and a lot of work to secure those leads/prospects. So, yes I agree, in the long run there is no such thing as “free leads”.

    Hi Wanda,

Sorry for the delay in getting this approved, strange things happen when you install modules, like notifications fail!

Yes, we have to break the lotto mentality that so many do have about network marketing. Just counting the number of times I’ve heard “Why can’t I attract quality people!”

Knowing how to properly present and qualify people does wonders in this industry. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

It takes far more time than most care to admit, besides if you knew the truth you might not start at all.

And, those that utilize many different methods outperform those who do not every time.
